Regular washing and appropriate care help maintain the compression and elasticity of Bauerfeind knitted braces, supports and compression garments.
Washing according to the product's care instructions can help the knitted fabric recover its shape after wear.
However, washing cannot reverse permanent deterioration of elastic fibres or fully restore compression that has been lost through material ageing.
To maintain your product's performance:
Wash regularly according to the care label.
Use a mild and gentle detergent without fabric softener.
Avoid tumble drying and excessive heat.
Avoid overstretching the fabric.
Store your product correctly between uses.
If your product no longer provides its intended compression or support, it may be time to consider purchasing a new one.
For medical compression garments, maintaining the prescribed level of compression is particularly important.
