What should I do if my Bauerfeind brace feels too tight?Updated 4 hours ago

Bauerfeind braces are designed to provide a snug, supportive fit. Medical-grade compression can feel unfamiliar at first, particularly if you're new to wearing braces or experience swelling.

Your body may need time to become accustomed to the sensation, but support should always feel comfortable.

Why might my brace feel too tight?

  • Sizing: Your brace may be too small for your measurements or body shape.

  • Swelling: Fluid retention and changes in swelling can affect how tightly your brace fits.

  • Positioning: Incorrectly positioned pads or overtightened straps may create excessive pressure.

  • Compression sensitivity: Everyone experiences compression differently, especially when first wearing a brace.

What can I do?

  1. Check your measurements against the product's Size Chart.

  2. Review the positioning and adjust any straps according to the Instructions for Use.

  3. Allow time to adjust: If compression feels unfamiliar, remove the brace, rest and try again later. Gradually increasing wear time may help you become accustomed to the sensation, where appropriate for your product and medical guidance.

Important: Your brace should never cause pain, numbness, tingling or changes in skin colour. Remove or loosen it if these occur and seek medical advice if symptoms persist or are severe. Do not attempt to build tolerance to these symptoms.
