What should I do if my Bauerfeind brace is slipping?Updated 4 hours ago
Your Bauerfeind brace should feel snug and secure, staying comfortably in place during normal movement.
If your brace is slipping, rolling or moving out of position, several factors may be affecting its fit.
Why might my brace be slipping?
Sizing: A brace that's too large may slip, while one that's too small may roll, bunch or cause soft tissue to bulge around its edges.
Body shape: Muscle definition, soft tissue distribution and individual limb shape can influence how securely your brace sits.
Changes in swelling: Fluid retention or fluctuations in swelling throughout the day can affect your measurements and fit.
Incorrect positioning: Misaligned anatomical pads or stabilising components can affect how the brace sits.
Wearing over clothing: Clothing underneath may interfere with anatomical alignment and cause the brace to move.
Movement or wear: Repeated activity or gradual loss of fabric elasticity may contribute to slipping.
What can I do?
Recheck your measurements against the product's Size Chart, particularly if your swelling or body measurements have changed.
Check the positioning using your product's Instructions for Use (IFU).
Wear directly against clean, dry skin where recommended, rather than over clothing.
Check straps and product condition, ensuring they're properly secured and the brace is cared for according to its washing instructions.
Remember: Both oversized and undersized braces can slip. Choosing a tighter size doesn't necessarily improve stability.
