Why has my Bauerfeind brace or support lost compression?Updated an hour ago
Bauerfeind knitted braces and supports use specialised elastic fibres to provide targeted compression and support.
With regular use, these fibres naturally experience repeated stretching and movement, which may gradually affect their elasticity and compression.
Several factors can contribute to changes in compression:
Frequent wear: Repeated stretching through everyday movement and activity.
Excessive stretching: Forceful pulling or handling beyond the product's intended range.
Improper washing: High temperatures, harsh detergents or fabric softeners.
Heat exposure: Tumble drying, direct sunlight or other excessive heat.
Natural material ageing: Gradual changes in the knitted fibres over time.
Regular washing according to the product's care instructions helps maintain the fabric's performance, but it cannot permanently prevent natural material ageing.
A noticeable loss of compression does not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect. However, unexpected deterioration can be reviewed individually.
